Battle of Tunnel Hill Civil War Reenactment

Event Dates: September 10, 2011 - September 11, 2011

Description of Event

Visitors will enjoy a weekend of civil war reenactments, tours of the Historic Western & Atlantic Railroad Tunnel, Tunnel Museum, "Meadowlawn," the 1850 Clisby Austin House - headquarters of General William T. Sherman, as well as various food vendors and period sutler tents. Interact with the reactors, visit their camps, then find your spot along the spector line to watch the battle unfold at 2:00pm each day!

Weekend after Labor Day each September

Admission Fee (if any): $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children 12 and under (museum free with paid reenactment entry)

Ages Festival is Appropriate For: All ages

How to Get There

I-75 Exit 341 then 1.5 miles south on GA Hwy 201; follow the signs.

 ADA Accessibility Notes
The museum is equipped with handicap restroom facilities; parking available; there is a lot of walking, both on pavement and on the ground.
 
 Pet Friendly Notes
Dogs must be on a leash at all time; while they are welcome, it's not recommended due to the loud noise of the battle (cannons and gun fire)
