Clarence Brown Theater
University of Tennessee is one of 17 universities nationwide with its own professional theatre associated with the League of Resident Theaters. The Clarence Brown Theater Company is a LORT D company produced by the university's Department of Theater and is fully integrated into it's academic curriculum. The Theater was built in 1970 and dedicated to Clarence Brown, a University of Tennessee alumnus and distinguished film director. It is a 576-seat proscenium theater that presents a wide variety of theatrical and dance performances by faculty, students, and professional guest artists.
