Annual East TN Polar Plunge

Make a New Years Splash!  The Polar Plunge is a fun, family wade and plunge event in the waters of Cherokee Lake at Cherokee Lake Dam and Recreation area.

The event will feature food carts, music, and a Parade of Penguins shuffle to the water.  Participants in the event are encouraged to dress up for the parade.

This a benefit event with proceeds going to Keep the Tennessee River Beautiful to help with their mission of keeping the waters of the Tennessee River Valley clean.

Things You Should Know!

  • Life jackets and vests are required for children 12 years of age and younger. You will not be able to participate in the plunge if you do not have the proper safety flotation device.
  • We recommend that you wear water shoes or sandals. The plunge area is rocky in some places. Having a good pair of water shoes will help keep your paws from being injured.
  • Make sure to bring warm blankets, towels, and a change of clothes. There will be restrooms available for changing!
  • Remember to register early to be guaranteed your 2019 Polar Plunge long sleeve T-shirt!
