Some of the nation’s most highly acclaimed storytellers make their way to Athens the third week in October each year for the city’s celebration of storytelling, tall tales, and readings. The Athens Storytelling Festival takes place in the Limestone County Courthouse Square in downtown Athens and along with award-winning performers, the event features an amateur night for locals to take the stage to unleash their own tall tales, lies and stories.
