Not far from the General Longstreet Museum sits historic Bethesda Church & Cemetery. This picturesque plot of land features a kiosk detailing both Civil War and local history of the area, a majestic stone archway, graves dating from the 1700s, and a church that was used as a hospital during the Civil War. One mass grave holds the remains of at least 60 unknown Civil War soldiers.
After the war, the church doors were closed and locked. Visitors can walk inside the church and see the church as it was originally built.
