Crazy Horse Recreation Park

For adventure or fun in the sun, Crazy Horse Recreational Park features paddling trips on the picturesque Buffalo River.  Several canoe trips are available to choose ranging from an 8-mile, 4 hour  journey to a 21-mile, two day trip.

The Buffalo River wanders 125 miles through the southern and western portions of middle Tennessee. Visitors are treated to a diversity of wildlife including nearly 85 species of fish. Canoeing and kayaking are especially popular in the middle and lower reaches of the river because of its scenic beauty and fishing opportunities.

Canoes are rented daily from April to September and on weekends in October.  The Park opens at 7 a.m. on Saturdays and 8 a.m. all other days.  After Labor Day, opening hour is at 8 a.m. on Saturdays. Reservations are recommended on weekends and holidays.

For those planning an overnight getaway to this outdoor wonderland, seven rustic cabins, RV sites and primitive riverfront camping are available.  For more information, visit

Crazy Horse Recreational Park is located 16 miles south of Linden, Tennessee and 12 miles north of Waynesboro, Tennessee on Highway 13 at Bell Bridge.
