Each year EAC sponsors the Cousin Jake Memorial Bluegrass Festival the second Saturday in March to honor local "Cousin Jake" Tullock and his bluegrass legacy as bassist for Flatts & Scruggs.
EAC is also responsible for the area's most important educational event: the Young Authors' Conference. Every first Saturday in May students K-8 gather to share their self-written stories with each other and meet professional children's authors.
Founded in 1977, the Etowah Arts Commission exists to promote and sponsor artistic activities for the Etowah community. The EAC is based out of a converted historic drugstore next door to the restored Gem Theater.
