Tickets are now on sale for Family Heritage Day, November 10 from 9:00am-5:00pm.
This event gives the younger generation a chance to embrace their Appalachian Heritage through interactive programs of music, dance, and demonstrations.
Fall Heritage Days will include:
- Appalachian music all day on the Covered Porch
- Slow tractor race
- Wrench and skillet toss competition
- Splitting rails and learning to build a fence
- Tour of the Museum of Appalachia
- Old time crafts and demonstrations
- Traditional dancing and sing alongs
- Sheep herding
- Blacksmithing and sawmilling
- Cane grinding and sorghum making
- Educational exhibits
- Dulcimer playing
- School marm and spelling bees
- Basket weaving
- Great Appalachian Fiddlers' Convention
- And much more!

Are pets permitted during the October 6-7 homing coming event?- Ms. Brewer: The only pets allowed at the event are service animals.

Do you still have a campground? We enjoyed staying there but don’t see anything about camping. We do not have camping facilities on the Museum grounds, however there are several options in the surrounding area.
