This is a beautiful waterfall located right on the side of the road on Cove Creek in Wears Valley, TN.
Relax in the garden and watch the great variety of wildlife on the property including snakes, salamanders, fish, raccoon, blue herons, turtles, bats, and we even have a family of river otters.
The property used to house the former Cascades Lodge built in the 1920's. Many old rock walls and the remnants of the creek fed swimming pool remain. There are also stories of buried Confederate gold.
Also, located at the falls is Friendly Falls Food & Stuff, a unique outdoor restaurant on Cove creek in beautiful Wears Valley, TN. Order inside and eat in the garden or on the deck overlooking the river and their very own waterfall! While you are here, support local artists and check out the handmade crafts in the store.
Friendly Falls is also a member of the Appalachian Quilt Trail.
You can see the waterfall all year round. The restaurant is closed from Jan 1 to Feb 14th.
