Friends of Tishomingo State Park

Volunteers Needed !!

The Friends of Tishomingo State Park have been very active in doing repairs to many of the valuable structures in this beautiful park.  Volunteers meet monthly to attack disrepair, update landscaping, improve signage and clean up hiking trails.  Help is also needed to work various events during the year, such as trail runs, Santa in the Park, Easter Egg Hunts, Kids in the Parks, demos from the Mississippi State Extension Service, etc.

The Tishomingo Park is always challenged financially so the Friends of the Park pitch in to do whatever is needed.

This is such a great park with its scenic river, rock outcroppings, swinging bridge, cool old cabins and friendly folks. My wife and I had a fantastic winter weekend down there. Even if you’re not from the area, it's worthwhile to help or send some money!!

My longtime friend and myself have volunteered with Sierra Club and Am Hiking Society several times for a week and would like to help your park with easy to mod trail work and clean up (weeding, trimming, painting, etc) that you would need done. We would need inside lodging and a place to prepare food. thanks, Barb Ms. Borman: Please contact Tony Mobley with Friends of the Park or Gary Mathews with Tishomingo County Development Foundation. They will be able to coordinate with park officials.
