This historic house was occupied during the winter of 1863-1864 by General James Longstreet. It has been restored and will serve as a centerpiece of the Tennessee Civil War tour. Visitors can enter the house and get a glimpse of the past while viewing the interpretive exhibits and see first hand how a Civil War Communication Post would operate. This significant Civil War site will be the only museum of its kind nestled along the Tennessee Civil War Trail. Special events include "Christmas at the General's" the second Sunday in December.
About this Establishment
The Nenney Family originally owned the home during the dates that it was occupied by General Longstreet. Thanks to the expertise of Middle Tennessee State University's Center for Historic Preservation, the historic house now contains exhibits and maps interpreting the significant landmark.
