Huntsville Botanical Garden

Guests are greeted with a rainbow of color from thousands of plants and beautiful foliage at the Huntsville Botanical Garden.  With year-round activities, there is always something growing for the entire family to enjoy. 

The Huntsville Botanical Garden boasts a picture perfect aquatic garden, a spectacular wildflower and nature trail and numerous specialty gardens and plant collections.  The Children’s Garden and Nature Center contain the nation’s largest seasonal butterfly house and eight specialized gardens.  Children and adults alike will enjoy a stroll through the dinosaur garden, the space garden, storybook garden and more.

Recreational Opportunities

A variety of family-friendly festivals are scheduled throughout the year and include Beaks and Barks, Huntsville Blooms, the Scarecrow Trail and the nationally recognized Galaxy of Lights.  The Garden also has a gift shop, indoor and outdoor facility rental options and education programs for all ages.

Seasons Accessible

The Huntsville Botanical Garden is open year-round for all ages to enjoy.

October through March:

  • Monday-Saturday: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
  • Sunday: 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm

April through September:

  • Monday-Thursday: 9:00 am – dusk
  • Friday & Saturday: 9:00 am – 6:00 pm
  • Sunday: 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Please note that the Nature Center/Butterfly House is open May through September.

ADA Accessibility Notes

Wheelchairs and strollers are available through the Visitor Center. For visitors with limited mobility, a shuttle is usually available April through October.  For reservations, call 256-830-4447 ext. 221.

Pet Friendly Notes

Pets are not permitted except during designated times and special events.
