Mayfield Dairy Farms Visitor's Center

Mayfield Dairy Farms has been in operation for over 100 years. When you visit the Mayfield Visitors Center in Athens, TN (in between Knoxville and Chattanooga on I-75) you’ll learn how Mayfield makes the best milk and ice cream you’ve ever tasted. After your tour, you can stop by our ice cream parlor and purchase a cup or cone of your favorite Mayfield flavor, or pick up a souvenir in our unique gift shop.

In 1910, when T.B. Mayfield Jr. purchased 45 Jersey cows and began delivering milk to customers in his hometown of Athens, Tennessee, little did he know that four generations later, his family milk and ice cream business would become one of the nation's favorite dairy brands.

After T.B. Jr. retired, the next generation of the Mayfield family picked up where he left off, and in 1950, under the leadership of owners Thomas B. Mayfield III and C. Scott Mayfield Sr., we built the Southeast's most modern milk plant. Today, Mayfield is one of the nation's leading dairies, using advanced technology to bring the best products and innovative packaging to our customers.

Scottie and Rob Mayfield now make up the fourth generation of Mayfield family who help oversee the dairy's operations. And while we employ nearly 2,000 workers and serve nine states, we haven't forgotten the hometown philosophy that's made us so successful all of these years - deliver fresh, great tasting products our customers love.

Fifty plus years ago I had a great friend in Howard Bales. He was a super promoter of Mayfield Dairy. He must have passed away several years ago. Scott and Tom were great people to deal with.

I am assistant teacher at Knox county head start. Our bus saw your cow at Kroger on Chapman highway, then the cow kept passing us on the road. My class has written the cow a letter. Where should we send it please. Thanks, Mayfield Visitors Center 4 Mayfield Lane Athens, TN 37303 Attention Maggie

We miss the cherry nut ice cream. We live in Dandridge tn. Do you still make it? We do but it is only found in the three gallon containers in the Visitor’s Center in Athens, TN.

Our Kindergarten Round Up is the first week of April. We are doing a cowboy/girl theme. Was wondering how to and if the Mayfield Cow was available. How much? Is there any items for souvenirs ? Please contact the Mayfield Dairy Visitor’s Center directly for more information. Donna Ballew - Visitor Center Coordinator 423-745-2151 ext. 72571 1-800-MAYFIELD
