Moccasin Bend National Archeological District

Moccasin Bend National Archeological District is located on a prominent bend of the Tennessee River just across from downtown Chattanooga. The 750-acre park chronicles more than 12,000 years of human history, with evidence of early American Indian villages and Civil War earthworks, as well as other sites of national significance. The park is part of the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park.

Visitors can hike the Blue Blazes Trail, a two-mile loop trail that offers views of Lookout Mountain and the Tennessee River. In October 2013, the park will open a short trail along the historic Brown's Ferry Federal Road, which served as a route along the Trail of Tears and as a supply line during the Civil War.

Hi there, The National Park Service webpage states that the Blue Blazes Trail is a two-mile loop. The correction has been made in the description. Thank you for your comment.
