Mountain Hollow Farm Store & Studio

Mountain Hollow Farm is a cashmere goat farm located on the historic Vancel Mill property about an hour north of Knoxville and 2 hours from Pigeon Forge. Whether you have a genuine interest in cashmere goats or you just want to escape real life for a while, you are welcome at our farm.

We have a variety of fiber-producing animals and a unique country store featuring yarn, fine handcrafts, loose leaf tea, gourmet food mixes, and goat’s milk soap. Visit the store to shop or just hang out. We always have a pot of tea on and chairs awaiting anyone who wants to knit, crochet, spin, or simply chat for a while.

Visit our web site at www.mtnhollow.com to learn more about our animals, store, farm tours, birthday parties, and knitting, crochet, and spinning classes.

I haven’t been in the store yet..visited during lunch hour one day..but was given permission to visit with the animals and take pictures. Very nice, clean animal pens, beautiful dogs and goats and a very friendly farm cat. This place in the Hollow is charming and worth a visit..even if you aren't a knitting fan!

My husband and I were out for a drive and found the farm and store. It was quite a surprise to us to find such a delightful place in the quiet hollow. The charming little shop is located in an old country store reflecting another time. We had the chance to visit with two very friendly staff members and the cat. That is the thing about this place... you don’t go to shop, you go to visit. Then you can pick up a few nice things while you are there. I'm determined to go back for some knitting lessons!

Visited the farm two years ago with my women’s club. We enjoyed the goats, llamas and other animals. Beth was an excellent teacher, and we learned an amazing amount of information about yarns and spinning. She has a charming, wonderfully restored store full of gorgeous yarns, delicious teas and many other items. A wonderful place to visit for locals and tourists alike. Well worth the trip even if you don't knit or crochet.

I always visit the Farm when I go home to visit my mother. The farm is located on a lovely historic site. Beth is always welcoming, even opening the store on an off day because it was the only time I could visit once. She has a wonderful selection of yarns and some spinning fibers. The cashmere yarn from her goats is to die for, the llama fiber almost spins itself and the angora has a lovely bloom. She also has a large selection of yarns from other sources. I always leave with something and feel like I have been visiting with an old friend.

Mountain Hollow Farm is a beautiful historical piece of property tucked way off the road, The animals are well cared for and friendly. The yarn in the shop is to die for and the teas and other goodies are the best. Beth and her staff are so helpful. The shop is a pleasure to visit. It is like coming home every time I go there.

My knitting group from Richmond Kentucky spent a very enjoyable Saturday morning at the store. The yarns are beautiful and we were so warmly welcomed. It was most relaxing sitting around knitting, being treated to delicious tea, chatting and shopping. Afterwards we visited the animals on the farm and had lunch in nearby Cumberland Gap.

We first visited the farm in 2011 and again in 2012. We come from Michigan to visit with family and we were so impressed with Mountain Hollow Farm & store that it is a planned event when we are in Tennessee. We felt welcome and everyone is very knowledgeable. This is a must see for everyone! It is a hidden gem in Tennessee!

My family and I visit the farm when we travel to Harrogate to visit my parents. We love the goat milk soap and other handmade crafts. My 3-yr-old enjoys the animals and I find such joy just experiencing the wonderful atmosphere and conversation.

I visited the Farm for the first time during the East Tennessee Yarn Crawl. I think I just found my favorite new place to go. I’m already planning to go for the Knit and Spin
