Owners Ruggero and Lisa Ciarrocchi opened Paris Winery in April 2008. They originally discovered the rolling hillsides that would become acres of grapevines while fleeing the hurricanes in Florida.
The farm was originally a cornfield but was quickly filled with cattle, pigs, ducks, geese, rabbits and domestic animals. Shortly thereafter, a few acres of grapevines were planted to make some personal wine. The vineyard started with 5500 vines and today there are over 9000 vines comprised of 23 types of grapes. About 3 years later, they decided to open the winery. The winery boasts 26 different wines to choose from, many of them are award winners. Today, the 100-acre working family farm includes two vineyards, a winery, a Venetian-themed tasting room and gift shop.
The winery offers daily wine tasting and a Summer concert series “Concerts In The Vineyards,” on occasional Saturdays. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful landscape and views from the patio, take a stroll through the vineyards or shop in the vineyard gift shop.
The winery is open daily. Visitors arriving Thursday through Saturday 4 to 8 p.m. can enjoy a delicious meal in Ruggero's Italian Bistro. Dinner reservations are required by calling 731-644-9500.
