Pickwick Lake

If you're looking for one of the South's best trophy smallmouth fisheries, plan a trip to Pickwick Lake in northwestern Alabama.  While the lake is most notably known for largemouth bass and smallmouth bass, crappie, sauger and catfish are other favorite fish species sought by Pickwick anglers.

Pickwick Lake has played hosts to national fishing tournaments including the FLW Tour and the prestigious Bassmaster Elite Series.  An Alabama Bass Trail Lake, Pickwick Lake welcomes hundreds of amateur anglers from across the southeastern United States each year who travel to compete in the team-style tournament series.  Pickwick Lake has been a regular tournament stop on the trail since it launched in 2014.

Plenty of private marinas and free boat launch facilities are available to drop in your boat, canoe, kayak or jet ski and take off for a day of beautiful scenery and fun on the water.
