The Polk County Ramp Tramp Festival is a tradition that combines a unique flavored meal, bluegrass music, fun and fellowship. What is a "Ramp"? A ramp is a wild plant that grows in a mountainous regions in the eastern United States. The ramp is a member of the lily family. The Festival is made up of a meal with ramps, Bluegrass and Gospel Music, crafts, fellowship and more.
The festival kicks off with the Bluegrass and Beans on Friday night at 7pm. Enjoy the Bluegrass and Gospel music while you consume a bowl of white beans, cornbread, and raw ramps. On Saturday the activities begin at 10am and runs till 2pm. Spend the day enjoying Bluegrass & Gospel music and old time fellowship while enjoying a meal of fried ramps in eggs, fried potatoes, streaked meat, white beans and cornbread. Local craftsman have handmade articles for sale.
