I write you from CT. My mother's grandmother lived in Sweetwater. last year we drove through TN and Sweetwater so she could show me where she spent some of her childhood. my grandmothers and her sisters and brother grew up there. her uncle, my grandmother's brother, worked at a clothing store on the main street. When we got there, it looked so different to my mother. But we acknowledged that it had been almost 70 years probably since she had been there. But it was still so great to go through there, and we both wish we'd been able to stop at the museum. my great grandmother was Elizabeth Gullagher, and she had 5 children: fritz, Stella, Emma, Eva, and Minnie Mae. my great grandmother was widowed. her husband was a Dr. Augustus Gullagher and they lived in Athens. When he died, she moved to Sweetwater and raised her 5 children there. there is more. But we are looking for all and any old information we can find on this. They were Baptists. I have family heritage that lived and are buried in Sweetwater. I am looking for family whom were kin to the Cathcarts, The Pickels, The Mosers, The Lee’s, And many more. I want to learn about their life in Sweetwater.
