Tennessee Valley Winery is a family owned and operated establishment that has been in business since 1984. The winery started with a 30-acre vineyard and a wine list that reflected the hopes and dreams of growing grapes in Tennessee. As those dreams were realized, the business grew and began to take shape. We have entered wine competitions from state fairs to the international arenas, and from New York to California with the medals as representation of success over the years. As one of the first wineries in Tennessee we are proud to say we helped blaze the trail for a new, and budding industry in the South.
Over the years, we have grown and expanded both our wine list and production capacity. Today, we produce over twenty different types of wine including Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and other traditional varieties. In addition, we produce several wines from French hybrids as well as Native American grapes such as Concord and Muscadine. We also craft several fruit wines throughout the year including blackberry, strawberry, peach, and cherry. One unique and interesting note about our wines is that each fruit wine produced at Tennessee Valley Winery is made exclusively from that fruit–no concentrates or flavorings are ever used.
Tennessee Valley Winery continues to expand and grow as evidenced by the increase in availability of our wines throughout the state of Tennessee. We are currently distributed in the Nashville and Chattanooga metro areas as well as over 130 stores in the Knoxville metro area. Fun times are always on the schedule at Tennessee Valley Winery. We offer tastings daily and tours during the harvest season (September-November). We also host several events throughout the year. In the winter months, we provide an opportunity for our customers to hone their wine pairing skills with a series of “After Hours” social evenings. In the summer months, come relax in the vineyard to the music of one of our featured bands while enjoying a nice glass of wine with your picnic supper. In October, come join us for our famous “Oktoberfest” pig roast. This festival is an annual event at which we celebrate the year’s grape harvest. Our customers enjoy a hearty, home cooked meal, and live music served with our award winning wines and Southern hospitality.
